Tommy Harris Hooker extraordinaire

Tommy Harris signed to play professional rugby league for Hull FC mainly because he was out of work and for monetary reasons.

His debut on the 21 Jan 1950 was against Bradford and he came up against the experienced Darlison, this was a big learning curve for Harris but in the return match 19 Aug 1950 he showed the veteran Darlison what he was made off

winning the scrums and a dashing figure in the loose and it didn't take long for Harris to secure a regular place in Hull First Team and became a first Choice International hooker for Wales and Great Britain.

His remarkable speed in the loose which makes him such a top-class performer and in 1960 he was selected for the tour to Australia and New Zealand.

There has certainly never been a speedier hooker in the game and he joins up with the backs on all possible occasions.

His playing record whilst with Hull, 443 fist team Matches and scoring 56 tries, Wales 8 international matches and Great Britain 25 international matches.
